The aim of this pilot study was to bring art psychotherapy to children with glaucoma and to assess if art psychotherapy, as a treatment, increased their levels of self-esteem and self-concept, and reduced their symptoms of depression. Six children participated in the study. The single subject/AB experimental design was utilized for the study. Pre and post depression and self-concept tests were administered. The direct and indirect findings indicated that the art psychotherapy treatment enhanced three of the participants' levels of self-concept and self-esteem. The pilot studies indirect and direct measurements also emphasized that children with glaucoma are at higher risk of suffering from chronic depression.
