An updated checklist of Indian Microgastrinae (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) is prepared based on available literature records and the latest taxonomic and nomenclature changes. A total of 257 valid species (and additional eight species having taxonomic issues) under 24 genera have been recorded from India which is approximately 8.6% of world Microgastrinae. Of the 24 genera Apanteles Foerster, 1863 (55 species, 21.4%) and Cotesia Cameron, 1891 (48 species, 18.7%) are the most speciose whereas seven genera are represented by only one species. A key to Indian Microgastrinae genera is provided for the first time. Furthermore, state-wise and global distribution of Indian Microgastrinae along with their endemic status are furnished here. Among Indian states, Maharashtra shows the highest diversity (73 species), followed by Karnataka (68 species) and, Mizoram and Goa are yet to register any Microgastrinae. Within the Union Territories, Microgastrinae species is recorded only in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Jammu & Kashmir and Delhi. This study aims to provide a valuable baseline for understanding the diversity and distribution of Indian Microgastrinae wasps.
