Observations of the planetary nebula IC 418 have been made with an infrared spectrometer having a resolution z~X/X 0.013. A flux from this object has been detected at 12.8 ~, the wavelength of an ex- pected emission line of Ne+. In addition, it appears that a continuum has also been detected similar to that observed from NGC 7027, although with low statistical accuracy
