Abundance and activity of bacteria and extracellular enzyme activity, increased through fish ponds and tanks. Outputs of bacteria, glucose mineralization capacity and extracellular enzyme capacity, which originated in the ponds/tanks, were calculated. Management variables (i.e. total fish weight, fish number, feed weight) were found to be poor predictors of output variables.
