The suppression of multiple events is a crucial task when processing seismic data because they can obscure, or sometimes be mistaken for, genuine reflections. This task has been with us for a long time. The ambiguities caused by multiple reflections are perhaps more acutely felt today, with the growing need for reliable seismic attributes at the target level. From the processing side, although many techniques have been described in the literature, only a few have reached the industrial stage.
