The distribution of Toxocara canis larvae in the central nervous system of experimentally infected rats, hamsters and gerbils has been studied. The pattern of larval distribution in the brains of the majority of both rats and gerbils was that the cerebellum contained the greatest number of larvae per unit weight of tissue, followed by the cerebral hemispheres and with the brain-stem containing the smallest number of larvae. Less than half of the hamsters examined showed a similar distribution of larvae.
