Changes in abscisic acid‐like inhibitors and cytokinins were studied during dry storage after ripening of dormant peanut seeds. Decrease in ABA‐like inhibitors and increase in cytokinin levels was found as the seeds lose their dormancy. Dormancy of peanut seeds is associated with presence of a high level of ABA‐like inhibitors and a low level of cytokinins.
