Abstract magnified image 2‐Vinyl quinazoline 3‐oxides 6a, 6b and 15a are useful modular building blocks for the construction of a range of heterocycles with potential biological activity, from o‐[amidoalkenyl]aryloximes 5a, 5b and 14a, respectively, by cyclocondensation. Conjugate addition of EtOH or MeOH to the vinyl moiety of 6b is demonstrated.
