Planning a vacation can be a very time-consuming process filled with confusion, as there are many things to do prior to going on vacation, such as choosing a destination, developing a daily itinerary (or plan) for each day of the trip, reserving hotel accommodations, and creating a travel budget. Many digital solutions are available today to assist with these tasks; however, many of these solutions are only able to perform specific tasks related to your trip. Therefore, when it comes to planning a vacation, you have to visit multiple different sites to complete all of the logistical requirements of the trip. All of these visits to different vacation-planning sites create a significant amount of waste and confusion through inefficient labor costs and inefficiencies, resulting in disorganized travel arrangements for travelers. To solve the many disorganized and ineffectively planned problems associated with the vacation-planning process, Planify is an all-embracing, integrated, systematic, intelligent vacation-planning system that creates an individualized daily itinerary based on a few simple inputs that the user provides (i.e., destination, number of days to spend at that destination, number of individuals on the trip, and total travel budget). The travel-planning engine is designed to allocate daily activities over the duration of the user's trip, effectively and equally distribute the time spent on overall travel among the travelers, and provide a cost allocation for daily activities. The Planify travel-planning system will also suggest areas and hotels to stay in based on current, real-time, up-to-date information, including availability, price, and rating, obtained via an external web-based API, allowing the user to select a suitable hotel from a single website. As part of the trip-planning element, the user's total budget is taken into consideration so that the resulting itinerary can be accomplished within the overall travel budget.
