To address the technical challenges of low grinding efficiency and short service life of nano-alumina ceramic abrasive belts under high material removal rate conditions (single-pass depth of cut ≥ 0.5 mm), this work employed a secondary heat treatment process to modify nano-alumina ceramic abrasive grains. The grinding performance, wear characteristics, and service life of the modified nano-alumina ceramic abrasive belts were systematically tested, and the performance enhancement mechanism was analyzed combined with microstructural characterization. The results show that after optimization of secondary heat treatment parameters, the single-particle compressive strength of nano-alumina ceramic abrasive grains prepared at 1500℃ for 6 h reaches 52.3 N. The service life of the abrasive belt is prolonged by 33%under high material removal rate conditions, and failure phenomena such as abrasive shedding and wear are significantly suppressed. This work provides a theoretical basis and technical support for optimizing the preparation process of nano-alumina ceramic abrasive grains and expanding their application under high material removal rate conditions.
