We synthesized polymeric organic acids and confirmed they induce the BZ reaction for the first time. The polymer systems altered the BZ reaction dynamics, unlike low-molecular-weight organic acids, indicating polymer effects. This study will contribute to the development of standalone self-oscillating polymer/gel systems that do not require external BZ substrates.
