Derivatives of the native antibioticum Viginiamycin S1 (3) conjugated at the pipecolic acid oxo position (5–12) have been prepared and their bioactivity tested together with some earlier prepared congeners (4, 13–16). Some of these show promising activities (e.g. 9, 15 and 16).
