Production of lithium metal with ion-selective solid electrolytes

This highlight introduces an elegant new method to produce highly-pure lithium metal, wherein the mixed salts out of lake brine can be directly electrolyzed in a novel eutectic of relatively low temperature with an ion-selective electrolyte as separator.
