The effect of K, Λ, or Ω doubling on the threshold scaling is examined for molecular photodetachment. Anomalous power-law scaling, observed for molecules possessing internal angular momentum about the dipole axis, is found to break down on an energy scale comparable to that of the rotational doubling that quenches this internal angular momentum. The case of OH in J=1/2, Ω=1/2 is examined by explicit calculation.
