In the current issue of Arthroscopy, readers will note the original scientific article by Jack Bert and his colleagues, entitled “Antibiotic Prophylaxis for Arthroscopy of the Knee: Is It Necessary?”1 Bert et al. deserve praise for addressing this important and controversial clinical issue. However, although they make a valuable contribution to the literature, we caution readers that, in our opinion, the question that they raise remains unanswered.
