The relative toxicity was determined of types A, B, C-alpha, Cbeta, D, E, and F Clostridium botulinum toxin administered orally or intravenously to chickens, turkeys, peafowl, and pheasants. Types A and E were most toxic for all species. Types D and F toxin were entirely without toxicity for these birds; B was only slightly toxic. C-alpha and C-beta toxins were absorbed most easily through the gut wall.
