Three-wave survey demonstrates that team resilience promotes venture growth through task crafting in tech startups, indicating hindrance stressors impede recovery after failure.
Building upon the conservation of resource theory, we examined how entrepreneurial team resilience influences entrepreneurial venture growth through team task crafting within the context of entrepreneurial project failure in China. We also explored how hindrance stressors moderate this relationship. We collected three waves of data from 168 teams in high-tech entrepreneurial ventures in Yangtze River Delta region of China. The results show that entrepreneurial team resilience is positively associated with venture growth, and this relationship is mediated by team task crafting. Team hindrance stressors moderate the relationship between entrepreneurial team resilience and team task crafting. They also significantly moderate the mediating effect of team task crafting on the relationship between entrepreneurial team resilience and venture growth. Implications for research and practice are discussed.
