The kinetics of the adsorption of bovine hemoglobin from its aqueous solutions (95, 180, and 280 μg/mL) onto halloysites with the mean inside nanotube diameters of 12.5 (Hal-12.5) and 50 nm (Hal-50) was studied. The kinetic relationships of the protein adsorption onto both halloysite samples cannot be reliably described by equations of reversible pseudo-first-order reactions. The kinetics of the hemoglobin immobilization on the Hal-12.5 sample can be satisfactorily described within the framework of intraparticle diffusion (Weber–Morris) model or of Elovich’s model. The multistage character of the protein adsorption onto the nanotube surface was described using the kinetic model suggested by Prof. Poltorak’s research group.
