The article is devoted to a comprehensive scientific analysis of the conditions of crime commission as an integral element of the forensic characteristic. The essence and content of the conditions of crime commission, as well as their interrelation with other elements of the forensic characteristic, are investigated. Special attention is given to the classification of conditions based on their nature, temporal, and spatial parameters, alongside their impact on the formation of individual elements of the forensic characteristic, particularly the trace pattern and the crime scene environment. It is substantiated and proven that the conditions of crime commission determine the choice of criminal methods (modus operandi), the concealment of traces, and the success of conducting specific investigative (detective) actions during the pre-trial investigation. The place of conditions within the forensic characteristic system is defined, demonstrating their predictive potential for constructing investigative hypotheses (versions), planning specific investigative (detective) actions, and implementing tactical measures throughout their execution. Based on the results of the conducted research, the author concludes that establishing and analyzing the conditions of crime commission is crucial not only for the prompt detection and investigation of crimes and evidence collection, but also for developing effective crime prevention measures, particularly establishing a list of primary preventive activities.
