MnNiSi (Tc = 622 K), the major part of the MnCo1−xNixSi system, and MnFe0.5Ni0.5Si are ferromagnetic. Co and Fe substitutions decrease Tc, but increase the total moment. Compositions close to MnCoSi show antiferro- to ferromagnetic transitions with increasing temperature. MnCoSi and MnRhSi are antiferromagnetic. We briefly compare magnetic properties of the ternary silicides with those of related compounds.
