Electrical stimulation of the thalamic‐subthalamic area was performed on 17 anesthetized patients treated stereotaxically for cerebral palsy. Two of these patients had permanent electrodes implanted. Stimulations were performed some days later when the patients were fully awake. Permanent lesions were produced at the sites that seemed to give the optimal response to stimulation. Different responses to stimulation were studied.
