Nurse leaders (NLs) are entrenched in a technology-enabled environment, reshaping their daily work. The complex ecosystem of tools and systems without structured support potentially leaves NLs analytically informed but operationally constrained. The leadership challenge lies not in the absence of data, but in the structural and competency barriers that prevent data from driving meaningful action. The NL's ability to monitor, interpret, and respond to workforce signals in real time are both critical and more difficult to sustain. NLs are uniquely positioned with their frontline experience and strategic oversight to turn workforce analytics into actionable strategies for workforce planning and retention.
