Objective. To improve the results of surgical treatment of patients with snoring and obstructive sleep apnea syndrome by using the laser sculptural uvulopalatoplasty method. Material and methods. Laser sculptural uvulopalatoplasty under local anesthesia was performed to 309 patients with snoring and obstructive sleep apnea syndrome aged 41 to 79 y.o. from 2011 to 2020. Layer-by-layer removing of pathologically altered mucous membrane and structures of the soft palate’ submucosal layer was performed. For removing tissue the CO2-laser in “Super Puls” mode with usage of SurgiTouch machine was applied. Such approach ensures minimal post-operative negative side effects, preserving soft palate function and full patient recovery. Results. Usage of laser sculptural uvulopalatoplasty as method of patients with snoring and obstructive sleep apnea syndrome treatment is high efficiency (98.4% of cases), safety and provide strong 5-years (and longer) effect. Conclusion. Laser sculptural uvulopalatoplasty is a safe and effective method of treating patients with snoring and obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, providing a stable and complete relief from snoring and its complications.
