A description of a method of measuring anisotropic magnetic susceptibility in rocks, based on an original method by Ising, is followed by the results of a series of measurements made on an intrusion, and on a metamorphosed sedimentary rock. These results show a good correlation between the textures of the rock, and the axes of anisotropic susceptibility. I.
