This year has been exciting for Biointerphases and the journal editorial team.As we work to expand the visibility and reputation of the journal, we have seen the article submission rates and the number of articles published rise significantly. We continue to champion the publication of papers which both develop and utilize quantitative analysis of biomaterials and biological interfaces. As an interdisciplinary journal, we cover the full breadth of research from our community, with concepts from chemistry, physics, biology, engineering, theory and modeling meeting, to develop and expand our knowledge of biointerface science and engineering. This multidisciplinary approach lies at the heart of our community, building toward the reproducible, traceable, and validated systems and tools needed to both underpin our fundamental understanding of the Biointerface and drive translation of our research knowledge to the wider academic and industrial community. With an ever-increasing number of journals available to authors we continue to explore new ways of supporting researchers to reach out to readers and the scientific community. This year we launched the journal Twitter account (@Biointerphases) to promote papers as they are published online. We aim to support authors to increase the early impact of their work by linking our tweets to their group and institutional Twitter profiles as well as the wider @AIP and @AVS_Members community. The editors would like to thank Dr. Karyn Jarvis and Dr. Nicolas Reynolds from Swinburne University of Technology for their volunteer support of the account and we encourage you all to join in and follow us.Also, in collaboration with the AVS, our authors (first and corresponding authors) receive one year of membership in AVS when their
