Results of studies of the plant-feeding capability of Geocoris punctipes (Say) indicated that the insect may maintain itself on plant foods. Development with moderate longevity may occur through several nymphal instars on plant foods but apparently required its prey for proper development and fecundity. Adults which switched from a diet of prey to a diet of plant food had moderate longevity and laid some viable eggs.
