This paper describes a new photographic process in which an image is recorded by the localized photodecomposition of lead iodide. The experimental techniques both for preparing thin films of lead iodide and also for recording different types of images are described in detail. Several possible applications of the process are discussed in terms of the resolving power, contrast and sensitivity of the films.
