A stable dimeric mono-coordinated NHC–Pd(II) complex with bridging iodine atoms was synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It has been successfully applied to the Suzuki–Miyaura cross-coupling reaction under aerobic conditions. Good to excellent yields were obtained in most cases with the addition of H2O.
