Reddy et al. (2022) conducted an observational in Intertrochanteric fractures (n=60). Proximal femoral nail (PFN) was evaluated on Excellent and good functional outcome at 1 year. Treatment of intertrochanteric fractures with a proximal femoral nail resulted in excellent or good functional outcomes in 81.7% of patients at 1 year, with higher age and comorbidities predicting poorer results.
