Laryngeal papillomatosis is a rare airway disease caused by the human papilloma virus. It has been known to be notorious for local recurrence with potentially unfavorable outcome. The management is challenging, especially in developing countries where expertise and facilities for optimal treatment are limited. The most common treatment modality in our environment is cold-steel excision, which may not be adequate for the treatment of extensive papillomatosis. Endoscopic microdebrider extirpation of laryngeal papilloma has been well documented in most developed countries. However, there is a paucity of literature on this technique in our environment. Therefore, the aim of this report is to highlight our experience with endoscopic-assisted microdebrider technique in the management of extensive laryngeal papilloma. This study reported successful treatment of extensive laryngeal papilloma using the combination of endoscopic microdebrider method and mitomycin C adjuvant therapy, with complete remission after one session of surgery.
