Potassium tert-butoxide has wide application as a strong base and weak nucleophilie in organic chemistry.In this paper, the newest development of the t-BuOK-mediated coupling reactions is reviewed.The main focuses are the formation of carbon-carbon, carbon-nitrogen and carbon-oxygen bonds.The formation mechanisms of these bonds are discussed in details.Keywords potassium-tert-butoxide; coupling reaction; reaction mechanism; progress
