X‐ray diffraction analysis of corrosion products shows the presence of ZnO , ZnCO 3 , 2 ZnCO 3 . 3 Zn ( OH ) 2 and other basic zinc salts. The composition of the corrosion products depends on the composition of the zinc coatings and on the environment to which they have been exposed.
