An experimental study of diamond deposition from a mixture of hydrogen and 95% ethanol was performed using a gas-jet modification of the HWCVD method. A technique for uniform supply of ethanol vapors with a controlled flow rate was developed and implemented. A series of experiments was carried out, with the flow rate of ethanol vapor supplied ranging from 3 sccm to 37 sccm. The samples of coatings obtained were studied by scanning electron microscopy and Raman spectroscopy. Crystals with well-defined diamond faces were observed to synthesize on a substrate at an ethanol vapor flow rate of 16–26 sccm.
