The crystal structure of tetrasodium titanium nonaoxodiphosphate, Na 4 TiP 2 O 9 , has been investigated at 293 K from X-ray diffraction data collected on a CAD-4F diffractometer using Cu Kα radiation, λ= 1.5418 A. The structure is commensurately modulated monoclinic, with the basic cell parameters: a=8.631 (1), b=7.541 (1), c=7.049 (1) A, β=116.10 (2) o , Z=2. The superspace group is P 1s P2/c the wavevector is q=0.2a * +0.2c * , D x = 2.786 Mg m -3 ; M r =345.779; μ(Cu Kα)= 15.202 mm -1 ; F(000)=336
