Teaching international business courses presents a variety of unique challenges. One of the most daunting of these challenges is to capture the essence of the global decision making environment where diverse, far-flung operations must function as one to achieve the firm's overall strategic objectives. This paper introduces a strategic planning model that has teams interacting with teams to conduct a comprehensive strategic analysis of a selected multinational company. The byproduct of this dynamic process is a single integrated written analysis that specifies an “optimal” strategy for the firm if it is to maximize shareholder value on a global basis.
