During the past few years, a number of texts have been written on limited and specialized aspects of radiology of the infant and child. This flourishing of texts indicates the continuing growth of this specialty and a need for explicating some of the radiologic problems in pediatrics. This book by Dr. Swischuk covers in some detail the radiology of the newborn and, in addition, the author has included many of the conditions likely to manifest themselves during the first six to eight months of extrauterine life. The material is presented by systems. Each chapter begins with a review of the normal radiographic features and includes normal variations and artifacts that can be misleading to the inexperienced. A great many diseases and pathological conditions are covered.
