Social work students will need to understand, utilize and develop computer telecommunications to meet the skill needs of agencies in the near future. This paper discusses the use of computer telecommunications by human service agencies and describes exercises using university electronic mail facilities to: (1) encourage computer literacy with regard to telecommunications in the human services, and (2) promote more immediate and individualized communications between faculty and students. The integration of computer telecommunication skills in the undergraduate social work curriculum is also discussed.
