The caddisfly genus Triplectides is revised for Australia, with descriptions and keys provided for males of all 26 Australian species and subspecies and for females of the 18 species for which the sexes have-been associated.Ten species and one subspecies are described as new to science.T, cephalotes and T. gilolensis probably do not occur in Australiaand should be removed from its faunal list.Five closely related species, T. australis, T. helvolus, T. magnus, T. parvus and T. volda, are viviparous. The typical size of the compound eyes of southern males of T. similis often is twice that of northern males; the eye size ranges do not overlap although the forms are broadly sympatric, suggesting a single-gene variation in this character.
