Metabolitesproduced by 107 different strains of Pyricularia sp. have been chemically examined, 90 strains belonging to the rice blast fungus Pyricularia oryzae Cavara.Among the metabolites produced by them, the knownphytotoxic metabolite, pyriculol,1' was found to be produced by 46 strains.Its dihydro derivative,2' was also identified by most of the pyriculol producers.In addition, another phytotoxic metabolite produced by two strains (Hoku 62-119 and Ken 54-10) of P. oryzae has been isolated and identified as the known fungal metabolite,
