The kinetics of disproportionation of N‐Cl‐methylamine and N‐Cl‐ethylamine in water were studied at acid pH. Its disproportionation and protonation constants and the coefficients of absorption of N,N‐dichloramines are calculated and the mechanism of its disproportionation is discussed.
