The energy dependence of the focal spot size, transmission efficiency and output focal distance of a polycapillary x‐ray lens was measured efficiently over a broad energy range. An axial scanning method was devised to determine the energy dependence of the output focal distance. The halo effect was studied by measuring the spatial distribution of x‐rays with various energies in the beam focused by the polycapillary x‐ray lens.
