An unusual heterobimetallic polymeric cluster [(η5-C5Me5)WS3Ag2Br]n (1), has been isolated from the reaction of [PPh4][(η5-C5Me5)WS3] with AgBr. The X-ray analysis of 1 shows that it has an unprecedented ladder-shaped one-dimensional array in which pseudohexagonal prismatic [(η5-C5Me5)WS3]2Ag4 cluster units are interconnected by two Br bridges.
