Young's modulus and the specific resistivity in the polycrystalline Cu-Ni alloy have been measured as a function of the atomic fraction of Cu. The result of the specific resistivity is compared with the results of other authors. Young's modulus of the Cu C -Ni 1-C alloy is discussed in terms of an average cellular potential phi C =C phi Cu +(1-C) phi NI which is used in the explanation for Nordheim's rule. The interatomic potentials of Cu and Ni, phi Cu and phi Ni , are assumed to be due to the repulsive force between the nearest neighbour closed shells by the use of a Born-Mayer type of potential. Young's modulus of the polycrystalline crystal proposed by Voigt and that by Reuss are theoretically calculated with the average cellular potential in the Cu-Ni alloy. These computed values coincide with the measured ones.
