The ($d, p$) reactions on Zn⁶⁴, Zn⁶⁶, Zn⁶⁷, and Zn⁶⁸ were studied with {~}90-keV resolutions and analyzed with distorted-wave Born approximation calculations. About 20 levels from each of these reactions are identified and assigned to shell-model states. Sum rules are applied to estimate the degree of the filling of these. The results for this and locations of the "centers of gravity" of the shell-model levels are compared with results for isotonic nuclei, and with pairing theory. Measurements on ($d, t$) reactions are also included; among other things, they indicate that the 39th and 40th neutrons go predominantly into g9/2 rather than p1/2 states.
