The rate constants for the reactions magnified image and magnified image have been determined at room temperature in an isothermal discharge flow reactor using laser magnetic resonance to monitor OH‐ and HCO‐radicals. For the study of reaction (1) low initial OH concentrations were used, so that stoichiometry corrections were negligible. By varying the surface to volume ratio of the flow reactors employed, wall effects were carefully controlled. From pseudo first order analysis of the OH‐decay a rate constant of k1(296K) = (4.9 ± 1.0) · 1012cm3/mol · s was obtained. The rate constant for reaction (2) was determined relative to k1 yielding k2(296K) = (1.1 ± 0.4) · 1014 cm3/mol·s.
