Two undescribed clerodane diterpenoids were isolated from the stems of Tinospora sinensis . The structures of the diterpenoids were elucidated using spectral analysis in conjunction with ECD calculations. Compound 1 exhibited more potent inhibition of lipopolysaccharide-induced nitric oxide production in RAW264.7 macrophages than the positive control drug, quercetin. Furthermore, it suppressed the release of the key pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF- α and IL-6 in a dose-dependent manner.
