Abstract magnified image A general method for the synthesis of 8‐hydroxy‐6‐substituted‐1,7‐naphthyridines is described using acylation of the dianion derived from tert‐butylamide 1, followed by cyclization of the resulting intermediate ketones 2 with ammonium acetate.
