On strain field interactions with axial domains in V6C5

It is shown that dislocations are particularly favourable sites for superlattice nucleation in V6C5. It is also shown that at temperatures slightly below the superlattice order-disorder transition temperature application of small stresses can lead to marked increases in the growth rate of axial domains.
