The absorption of YAG: Nd 3+ laser pulses by formulations prepared from PETN and aluminum nanoparticles (∼100 nm) is studied by the opto-acoustic method. It is shown that the observed effect is due to the absorption of radiation directly by nanoparticles. The extinction coefficients of formulations with various concentrations of inclusions are measured.
