The interpretation of reactor-antineutrino-induced experiments in the investigation of neutrino oscillations is, in a decisive way, dependent on reliable calculations of the initial antineutrino spectra. Present calculations ignore the effects of low-lying structures in the beta strength function. These will have, however, a drastic influence on the β-decay properties of the fission products and thus on the shape of the antineutrino spectra.NUCLEAR STRUCTURE Influence of structures in the beta strength function on reactor antineutrino spectra.
